What happens when I hit 3 free audits?+
Nothing disappears. Every result you have already run stays readable and shareable. You just cannot start a new one. A second-opinion report is one more audit, and it works on any upload, including your own strategy. There is no clock on the free tier and no expiry date. The limit is 3 audits, total, forever.
Is there a subscription?+
No. There is nothing to cancel and nothing renews. You pay once for a report, or you do not pay at all. We had a monthly plan on the drawing board and removed it: most people audit a strategy a handful of times around a decision, not every week, and charging them monthly for that would be charging them for nothing.
What exactly is a second opinion?+
One full audit of a strategy you did not build, for $49. All 8 tests, the same engine the free tier uses, plus a PDF report and a written note on what the seller is not showing you. It is aimed at the moment before you send someone $500 for an EA or a signal subscription. Nobody selling you a strategy is going to hand you its out-of-sample collapse.
Why is the paid tier aimed at other people’s strategies?+
Because that is where a verdict changes a decision that has money attached to it and a deadline. Your own strategy you can audit free, three times, and you already know how it was built. A vendor statement is the case where you have no idea how many variants were tried before the one you are being shown.
Do you offer refunds?+
Yes. If a report did not do what this page says it does, email support@overfitcheck.com within 7 days and you get the money back. A report is only charged when the audit finishes successfully, so a failed upload never costs you anything.
What is the sweep audit, and why can I not buy it?+
The overfitting test that matters, PBO, needs the results of every configuration you tested, not just the one you kept. On a single backtest it cannot say anything, and we do not score it. Reading a whole optimisation run is real work and the ingest for it is not built. So there is no buy button. We do not sell things that do not exist.
Is there a team plan?+
Not yet. If you need multi-seat access, email us and we will work something out.
What counts as one audit?+
One uploaded backtest file: a TradingView XLSX, a MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester report, or a CSV from any platform. Run the same strategy again with different settings and that is a second audit, which is exactly how you compare the two.
